
A tape switch works as a normally open momentary contact switch. Simple mechanism, and more available any length by your specification.

The load applied to the center bead makes down the upper electrode.  | 
        The upper electrode comes down and contacts with the lower electrode. Consequently this tape switch turns "ON".  | 
        No load to the upper electrode causes it to be returned to the normal position. Then both electrodes detach. So the tape switch turns “OFF”.  |
